Here are the answers to the most common FAQs…

Q. What types of Home Health services do you offer through Advocate Home Healthcare?
A. Advocate offers many services including the following:

      • Homemaking – light housekeeping (sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, dishwash, laundry, make bed, remove daily trash)
      • Personal Care – bathing, dressing, shopping, meal preparation
      • Companionship – playing games (such as cards), making a meal together, going for a walk
      • Respite – keeping your loved one safe while you take a break from caregiver responsibilities
      • VIP Assistant – making appointments; helping with mail; organizing; assisting with travel plans; holiday decorating; scheduling handyman, lawn care and other outside services

Q. What qualifications does your Home Health staff have?
A. Our staff is comprised of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs), all licensed and bonded for your peace of mind. All our staff members pass a Level 2 background check, fingerprinting and drug screen before they are eligible to work for Advocate Home Healthcare and NCCOA. They must have a valid driver’s license, proof of required auto insurance and a safe driving record. All have a current American Heart Association CPR Card and complete a 4-hour training in CPR, AED and First Aid every two years. Staff members have passed a rigorous test of 100+ home health-related questions, as well as a practical skills test administered by a Registered Nurse. We also require continuing education in senior care issues with mandatory attendance throughout the year. Ongoing training covers topics such as Infection Control in the Home, HIPAA, Diabetes, Dementia and more. Our experienced, dedicated staff includes employees with more than 20 years of service.

Q. What are the private pay rates for Advocate Home Healthcare?
A. Rates are based on the needs of each individual client. A private personal consultation with our staff reviewing your expectations enables us to provide the care and services best suited to your situation. A written agreement details the services, hours, frequency and rates, should you decide to receive our services.

Q. How do I pay for services?
A. We currently accept credit cards, EFT and/or checks.
