We’re almost 50 years young!

In 1974, the “Council on Aging” officially formed to serve the elderly, with George Crady as our first chairman. Early services included “How can we help?” (precursor of CHORE) and the “Care-O-Van” which delivered meals and transported seniors to doctors’ appointments and grocery shopping.

Fifty years later, Nassau County Council on Aging celebrates our Golden Anniversary on February 15, 2024, as we continue to serve our “Greatest Generation.”

The celebration begins in July 2023, as we build toward our anniversary date of February 15, 2024. Watch for special highlights and meaningful recognition throughout this time, creating exciting momentum for our extraordinary milestone.
